Lafrance Hospitality Company Receives 2015 Greater New Bedford Economic Impact Award

November 12, 2015 – Lafrance Hospitality Company Wednesday was recognized by the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce for their investment in a new hotel and event center in Wareham, MA. Lafrance Hospitality Company was selected for the award based on the job growth and investment at their new 85-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel and Rosebrook Event Center.

Lafrance Hospitality Company was recognized as one of the leading businesses in the Southcoast region who through their investment have generated economic growth and provided outstanding service throughout the Greater New Bedford Area.  Lafrance Hospitality Company invested $12M in a 60K SF expansion and created 33 new jobs with the opportunity to create an additional 20 jobs once the event center becomes more established.

Upon accepting the award at the Chamber’s 129th Annual Meeting & Business Luncheon, Chris Lafrance noted, “Lafrance Hospitality Company is a ‘beacon for business’, attracting additional development around many of our hotel properties. Specifically in Wareham, the hotel is the anchor to a retail destination development that has since attracted new businesses to the area. Financial, dining, retail, and health facilities have recently opened or are under construction, with many other area plans in progress.”

Vice President R. Christian Lafrance accepted the award on behalf of Lafrance Hospitality Company.  He was joined at the luncheon by Renee Dufour, Director of Corporate and Employee Relations; Matthew Shaffer, Marketing Manager, Mike MacDonald, General Manager – TownePlace Suites Wareham, Nate Weare, General Manager – Fairfield Inn & Suites (and newly appointed chamber board member), and Shelley Perry, Director of Sales – TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites.
