Waypoint Event Center Names Sales Manager

Lafrance Hospitality is pleased to announce that Susan Gomes has been appointed sales manager of the new Waypoint Event Center, adjacent to the new Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in New Bedford, MA.

As director of sales, Gomes will assist the facility in all aspects of sourcing and servicing sales activity for the banquet facility and/or hotel.

The Waypoint Event Center has meeting facilities, with Executive Board Room and a 3,000 square foot full service Conference Center, which includes a ballroom and three meeting rooms.

Prior to this position, Susan was recently the co-manager of Bittersweet Farm Restaurant & Tavern, in Westport, MA.  Earlier experience includes sales in a retail environment and hotel environment.  Susan possesses a B.S., in Hospitality and Tourism Management, cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst.  Susan lives in New Bedford, is a runner and enjoys reading and movies.  "Susan's combination of hotel experience and function sales, as well as her well-rounded educational background will help position the Waypoint, as the recovery continues," said Richard Lafrance, President and C.E.O.
