Situated in a refurbished whaling-era building, the Waypoint Event Center is the perfect blend of old and new. The exposed stone and wood work are all original to the 1830s and provide a historic charm unlike any other venue on the South Coast. With accommodating personnel and flexible spaces the Waypoint Event Center is the most unique venue on the Southcoast for weddings, corporate parties, seminars, tradeshows, meetings, and group training.

With 3,000 square feet of flexible event and meeting space, your attendees will be immersed in the rich history that is the working waterfront of New Bedford. Our Sea Loft boasts cathedral ceilings with exposed wooden beams and original stone walls. For smaller meetings, the Vineyard Room can also be divided into East Chop & West Chop for breakout sessions. Perfect for board meetings and strategic planning sessions, we offer the Seaview Boardroom as well.
The Sea Loft offers a truly unique space that is steeped in history. The original stone walls and cathedral ceilings with exposed wood beams add a touch of both rustic and industrial flair to this modern space. Featuring a built in bar, private restrooms, great natural lighting and a variety of updated audio visual equipment, this space is truly as versatile as they come! The Sea Loft is an ideal venue for baby & bridal showers, welcome dinners, wedding receptions and larger business meetings. Depending on set up needs, the Sea Loft can accommodate events up to 120 guests (110 guests with space for dancing).
The Seaview Boardroom, positioned off of the lobby of the attached Fairfield Inn & Suites, features a built in flat screen with HDMI capability and plenty of natural light making it the perfect space for small meetings. The Seaview Boardroom is also a great space for bridal parties to use for getting ready on the big day!
The Vineyard Room provides ample space for meetings, cocktail parties or wedding ceremonies. The Vineyard Room has a dividing wall that can be utilized to break up the space into two smaller rooms, making it the perfect place for meeting break out spaces!
Historic New Bedford Harbor and downtown attractions are just across the street and offer a photo setting like no other. Your wedding photos will be full of character with colorful fishing vessels and blue ocean that stretches for miles.
